It thickens, emulsifies and stabilizes in a single cold-process step, with a smooth, non-greasy, quick-absorbing finish. Its Sepigel 305-equivalent chemistry is the one most directly represented in the published pharmaceutical literature cited in our technical information sheet.

Tip: For an existing preparation that has thinned or started to separate, start with 0.5 to 1% at room temperature and re-check before adding more.
- Start at the right level. For an existing preparation, begin with 0.5 to 1% at room temperature. In a new formula, the typical overall use level is 0.5 to 5%; add to the oil phase or at the end of compounding.
- Stir gently until uniform. Viscosity builds within minutes. Avoid prolonged high-speed shear, which can damage the polymer.
- Check body and appearance. Add more in small increments if needed, then document the change.

Where XeneFix Gels have limits.
We would rather you know before you compound.
- Salts reduce viscosity. XeneFix 30 Gel is sensitive to electrolytes. XeneFix Derm 600 Gel tolerates more. For high-salt formulas, increase the use level, reduce salt, or contact us.
- Very low pH can weaken the gel, more so with XeneFix 30 Gel.
- Cationic ingredients at high levels can interact with these anionic polymers.
- High ethanol content can destabilize the gel. Confirm compatibility in solvent-containing formulations.
- Heavy shear can damage the polymer network. Gentle mixing is enough.
- Fully separated batches may not be fully recoverable. Act early, or build stability in from the start.
