Overview
Inorganic alkalizing agent and astringent supplied as calcium hydroxide (CAS 1305-62-0; Ca(OH)2; MW 74.09 g/mol). It is a white powder that is slightly soluble in water, soluble in glycerin, and insoluble in ethanol, and it absorbs atmospheric carbon dioxide upon exposure to air to form calcium carbonate.
