Propylene Glycol Liquid USP

Overview

Pharmaceutical solvent, cosolvent, and humectant supplied as the liquid diol (CAS 57-55-6; C3H8O2; MW 76.09 g/mol). It is a clear, colorless, viscous, practically odorless liquid that is miscible with water, ethanol, and glycerin, but immiscible with fixed oils and mineral oil; it is hygroscopic and should be stored in airtight containers protected from light.
